Scuba diving gives you an opportunity to discover magnificent underwater landscapes: from cold water to tropical water, each dive is different and your equipment should be as well, to suit your destination… And even if the water where you're diving is warmer than 24°C, a full-length wetsuit can be useful, especially if you'll be doing several dives each day. As such, we've designed a wetsuit specifically for scuba diving in warm water, in order to meet the different technical needs and expectations of our divers.
BUY AT DECATHLONAs is the case for each of our products, the story of this wetsuit started with an observation of how people enjoy their diving. For warm-water diving, a diver will generally use a wetsuit with fairly thin neoprene. This type of wetsuit (generally 3 mm) therefore absorbs less of the weight of your tank than a thicker wetsuit which is intended for diving in temperate, and even cold water. As such, our design teams decided to develop a wetsuit in specific response to this issue, after having analysed the areas of wetsuits that are prone to the greatest wear and tear.
The SCD 540 wetsuit designed by Subea has reinforced padding on the shoulders, collarbones and lower back. These reinforcements, positioned on the basis of our analyses, provide better comfort and more support when bearing the weight of your diving equipment on land, in a vertical position before diving, and once in the water in a horizontal position. To protect the neoprene from wear caused generally by rubbing against your BCD, these reinforced zones are also covered with anti-abrasive material.
With a constant focus on making scuba diving easier, our design teams also added an accessory hook on the wetsuit's right leg, in order to free up the diver's hands. It's the perfect place to clip your mask, dive computer or anything else, when moving around or while on the boat. During the dive, this hook can be used as a place to clip your SMB, or some other small accessory.
