WHICH SCUBA DIVING SUIT YOU CHOOSE WILL MOSTLY DEPEND ON THE WATER TEMPERATURE.
There are several types of scuba diving suits. So you will have to choose between:
- a wetsuit (photo 1): this is the most widespread suit on the market. Its purpose is not to block water out, but instead to trap it to allow your body to heat it up to create a thermal buffer between you and the outside. It is ideal for diving as it is stretchy and modular.
- a semi-dry suit (photo 2): like a wetsuit except that there is little or no water circulation inside thanks to the sealed cuffs at the neck, wrists and ankles. There is therefore less energy expenditure. ~

- a drysuit (photo 3): here, it is the clothes under your suit that provide the thermal protection. This type of suit is suitable for very cold water but you need to be an intermediate diver before you can use one. Decathlon do not sell drysuits.

When diving, the cold is your worst enemy! For better thermal insulation, consider finishing off your outfit with a hood, a wetsuit top or diving vest, a 1mm undersuit or 5.5mm oversuit, or a hooded top.
