YANN, SUBEA SALES MANAGER FRANCE
I have been with Decathlon for 23 years. I am passionate about diving, the sea and boats. One could say I am a “Waterman”, since I love being in the water. I have been diving for about 15 years. I discovered this sport when I was a store manager in Monaco where there was a diving club. As a result, I went diving almost every day with other employees and this is how diving became a real passion for me. Currently, I have my PADI Rescue level with the Deep certification.

WHAT DO YOU DO AT SUBEA ?
When the sales managers received a proposition to join the passion brands in 2016, I decided to go for the sport I was passionate about, namely diving so I joined the Subea team. We are a small team in a small place but we are all passionate about what we do, so it's a great atmosphere, and that's exactly what I was looking for: teamwork! Today, I am the sales manager for France and my job is to organise the sales activity in France and to make the connection between the brand, the passion brand products and the product ranges to have in store.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT SCUBA DIVING ?
The first thing that I like is the feeling of wellbeing one has in diving. Once you're under water, you have a sense of freedom, especially in terms of movement, you feel serene, and it is very exciting to discover this universe. Each dive is different and I think that's fantastic. It's really a sport that gives you the chills every time and, above all, at the end of each dive, the feeling of wellbeing, freedom of mind and enthusiasm is absolutely incredible. That's why we have the catchphrase "Smile Underwater", because when you get out of the water, you're still a bit euphoric. Besides, it's what drives me every day: to share these emotions and this pleasure to be in the water and under the water.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST BEAUTIFUL MEMORY OF AN UNDERWATER EXPERIENCE ?
My most beautiful memory is linked to the "pleasant" side, which is what I love about diving. I'm not an extreme diver, I'm not so much interested in the depth but I want to feel good. It was in the Mediterranean sea, at the Cap d'Antibes, at dusk. All the optimum conditions were there: the fauna, the flora, the water temperature... You could even hear the noise of the anchors in the middle of the night and we all came out amazed. In my memory, I even feel that it was in broad daylight. Afterwards, it was a real pleasure to return to the boat, which was absolutely fantastic.
