I joined Subea in January 2015 as head of supply for spearfishing and diving. My job is to support projects run by the product manager, product engineers and designers in terms of validating product design, but I am really more involved in the costing and control part. The idea is to support a project from the original idea right up to making it available in stores. The best stock in the right place, working alongside the project, to get the most relevant offer at the best price.
When I was younger, one January, I was with my grandfather off the coast of La Ciotat. We took a boat out to spearfish. The weather wasn't good, very windy, a nasty swell, the water was very cold and fish were scarce... I felt under a stone for a place to hang on so that I could blend in. And there, out of nowhere, I saw a huge sea bass. I didn't have a good speargun, but the adrenaline took hold because I didn't want to hurt it and lose it stupidly if it had to struggle. I waited until it began to veer in front of me to pull the trigger. The shot couldn't have been better, right behind the eye, the fish died instantly. I will always remember that feeling. I had just caught my first big fish...
