JULIAN, RETAIL ASSISTANT AT DECATHLON IN SAINT-BRIEUC
I've been diving for about 5 years, and I've done about 600 dives so far. I've mainly dived in Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji. When I was in Thailand, I was dive club instructor specialising as a videographer. Passion and training helped me to overcome my fear of the water and to become a lifeguard, amateur freediver and PADI Divemaster in scuba diving.

WHAT DO YOU DO AT DECATHLON ?
I just joined the Decathlon team in June 2016 as a retail assistant, working 35 hours per week at the Saint Brieuc store in Brittany. I'm also an editor and ambassador for the Subea brand, which allows me to share my passion and knowledge with my customers. I'm also a Subea sport/product relay.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT SCUBA DIVING?
It's the discovery of a new world. In addition to having feelings of freedom and weightlessness, it's as if you're moving into another dimension. Diving also allows us to travel, to discover things and to meet a community of divers, which is great!

WHAT'S YOUR MOST BEAUTIFUL MEMORY OF AN UNDERWATER EXPERIENCE?
A dive in Thailand on the Sail Rock spot where I found myself alone with a whale shark for a quarter of an hour. It's quite rare to be able to experience that for such a long time, and I have incredible memories of that encounter!
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE IDEA OF BECOMING A SUB-EDITOR?
It feels really nice to have responsibilities within Decathlon and to feel well-integrated into the team, even though I've just arrived. This experience also allows me to share my passion for diving with my colleagues, my customers, as well as with all the clubs around where I live, so it's really great!
