THE STEPS TO FOLLOW WHEN PACKING YOUR DIVE BAG
To properly protect your diving gear during a trip, remember to put the most delicate equipment at the stiffest part of your bag, or in the middle so that it is protected by the rest (a wetsuit can give good protection). Then proceed as follows:
- Start by packing your regulator, followed by your buoyancy compensator.
- Then add your smaller accessories (mask, SMB, etc.).
- Put your suit on top for protection.
- Put your fins in next to stiffen the top of your bag.
- If you are taking a dive camera or torch, remember to keep the battery with you in the cabin! Many airlines no longer allow batteries in the hold (such as lithium batteries) so remember to check the rules before you leave.
- Finally, and to avoid any nasty surprises on arrival, we also recommend that you keep your dive computer with you in the cabin because some models are not good at withstanding the pressure in the hold.
Have a good trip!
