HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT SUIT SIZE?
The neoprene suit is a piece of clothing with the main aim of protecting you from the cold during water-sports. Whatever you are doing, the suit should be as close as possible to your body to be able to do its thermal insulation job.
Discover our simple and practical guide to choose your diving suit size properly!
WHY A NEOPRENE SUIT?
As its name suggests, this type of suit uses "neoprene" technology. This material is made up of micro-bubbles. The more bubbles it contains, the more flexible the suit. However, under pressure, when diving for example, the bubbles are crushed and its thermal protection is less effective.
This explains why divers sometimes dive with suits that are up to 7 mm thick!

GOOD NEOPRENE QUALITIES
Apart from being light, good neoprene can be distinguished by:
- its elasticity
- its thermal insulation capacity
- its resistance to wear
- its capacity to return to its initial shape
Actually, the suit protects divers from the cold by forming a fine layer of water that will become warmer when in contact with the skin.

A FEW LAST TIPS
The most important factors to choose the right size for your suit are:
- your chest measurement, at nipple level.
- your waist measurement.
- you hip measurement.
Be aware that if there are any folds around the thorax or thighs, this will not be a handicap for doing sport. Nevertheless, the thermal insulation will not be as good. The chest size should be prioritised so as not to affect your all important breathing comfort.
